Eyes

This is my first time writing a short story, so cut me some slacks guys. There might be some grammatical mistakes, please point it out if you found it. Enjoy reading!

She paused her attention to the laptop screen laptop in front of her and picked up her phone. Even though she put it on mute, she knew that she had just received a Whatsapp message since the phone was blinking with green light.

Her lips curved into a smile upon seeing the sender's name.

"Hey, jom keluar"

She replied shortly after.

"Keluar mana? :D"

She was definitely excited. Of course she would say yes to his invitation. She would say yes to anything he asked!

She was head over heels for that guy. She didn't know since when she developed feelings towards him and whether he felt the same too or not. Most of the time she would be positive that none of her crush likes her back but this time, with this guy, it's different. 

She sort of had confidence of his feeling, that he might had the same feelings like her. He treated her so nice and he made her felt comfortable around him. Teased her and everything. He liked to talk a lot and his voice was like music to her. She enjoyed listening to him. She usually talked a lot too, but with him, she preferred to listen.

"Entah, mana-mana je."

"Boring la"

"Ko nak keluar mana?"

Her forehead crinkled. Usually he always had a plan. But she immediately thought about an idea.

"Jom piknik!"

"Teringin nak piknikkk"

"Ajak dorg semua!"

She instantly regretted the idea of telling him about the picnic thingy. She was afraid that they would think that the idea was lame and silly. She thought she should have chose a common place where they usually hung out.

"Sure boleh gak"

Her eyes widen.  She can't believed he said yes. She can't contained her happiness and kept grinning while replying his text.

"Yeayyy!"

That's so her. She always got so excited.

"Ko pilih tempat"

"I'll prepare the foods"

"And ajak dorg semua"

"Jom keluar berdua je lah"

This time, she frozed. She was questioning his act. "Did he just asked me out for a date?!" She wanted to say yes immediately but instead,

"Serious la?"

She bit her lips while waiting for his reply. 

"Aah" 

She literally screamed her lungs out after reading the reply. She was excited. Super excited! Her mind told her not to, because he was a prankster and loved pulling out jokes to have fun anytime he wanted even if it was a bad time. Her mind didn't want her to get hurt.

But no there was no more Whatsapp came from him. It was like he was waiting for her answer. That's when she was sure that they're going to go out together. Only the two of them. 

With grins still lingering her lips, she closed her laptop and reached for her friend's car keys after asking for permission. Of course her friend was suspicious. Her friend thought that it's weird for her to borrow her car to go to Jusco out of sudden and alone. Not to forget the fact that she won't stop grinning.

She picked out the best clothes from her closet. Her favorite pair of black jeans and a light colored batwing. She put on a light makeup. She didn't want to overdress and looked like she tried so hard. 

She prepared sandwich, chicken salad, sushi, fruits, orange juice and canned coffee after she came back from Jusco. She packed all the foods neatly and stacked them into a paper bag. She wanted to cook something special but living in a hostel didn't allowed her to do so. Plus, she was not really a great cook to start with. 

She rushed to the door when she heard a sound of roaring engine. She thought it might be him since it was time, so she glanced to her phone and saw it blinked with green light. That might be his Whatsapp, to tell her he has arrived. 

She can't see him inside of the car since her eyes was blinded by the sunlight. She wanted to see his face though, so she pouted.

Little did she know that he was looking at her from the moment she walked out of her block with a smile across his face. He was happy that they would spend their time together today. He wondered what gonna happened at the end of the day. He hoped it would went well.

He started to control his expression when she was just about to open the car door. He didn't want to be laughed at for being too excited.

On the other hand, her heart was beating hard. Her breathing went all weird and she can't controlled it. Of course she was excited but she was nervous as hell too. She knew she will be laughed at since she can't controlled her expression well. It was written all over her face that she was nervous!

He smiled the sweetest smile she had ever seen upon looking at her nervous face. In hope to calm her down a bit. It made her smiled too and a faint shade of red colored her cheeks when he won't stop looking at her. 

She shot him a look to make him look away. Trying to act all cool but made him laughed instead. She pulled out a sullen face and it made him wanting to pinch those cheeks of hers.

She can't stay mad for long when he started talking. Her music. All for her ears. 

They both knew it would get awkward because they never went out together without their friends. So they both tried to make it comfortable for each other. They chatted like they always did. He would teased her occasionally and they would laughed together at their jokes.

They didn't bother to tell their friends, that they went out together. They both didn't want to talk about it, about the consequences of this date.

They were at Danga Bay now. They sat on a shady spot far from crowds and enjoyed the prepared foods together. They kept on talking to each other. She felt like this was all just a dream. But when she noticed the way he looked at her that one time after they talked about this one movie, she became convinced. This was a dream.

A dream that came true.

They just finished talking about something funny and she was laughing so hard. He kept looking at her, enjoying her cute laugh. Somehow it made him felt content, seeing her laughing like this, because of him.

Her laughs faded away when she saw him stopped laughing and continued looking at her. A gentle smile was on his face.

They kept looking at each others' eyes for quite some time. But it didn't felt awkward at all. They didn't uttered a single word. Because none was needed. 

A bright smile suddenly formed on her face. She was convinced and she can't contained her happiness. 

"I lov..." he wanted to tell her although she should have knew by now about his feelings. But it didn't came out as he expected. 

She already knew it, when he looked at her like that just now, all she can see was a man who really warmed her heart with a loving look from his eyes.

All the attention he gave him when they were just friends were more than friendship and plain kindness. He loved her. So much that you can see it from his eyes.

He didn't knew what to do, since his words failed him. He started to get nervous, afraid that she would thought that he was weak to confess his feelings.

She noted the changed of his expression and she found it rather funny and started to giggle. Because to her, he didn't have to say it, at least not now, because she have already saw it.

He was starting to confuse. But she stopped giggling and put on a gentle smile as if she was trying to say "I know".

She looked down and started packing things up, it was already past 5 pm that time. 

"Jom balik?" a smile still remained on her lips when she asked him.

He smiled back as a reply and helped her packing. The walk together to his car in silent. Trying to enjoy the moments. 

The moments when their eyes confessed for their hearts.
